Area Type by Property

After an area type has been created, it can be associated to a property to establish different thresholds for inspection pass/fail based on area type. For example, insulation inspections may have higher passing thresholds where lost energy due to dramatic weather conditions prevail.

To associate an area type to a property:

  1. Open the Administration Menu page.

  2. Under the INSPECTION ADMIN heading, click Area Type by Property.

  3. Click the Select Property button to locate and select a property.

Once a property is selected, all associated area types appear in the yellow pane.

  4. In the Area Type field, select the area type you want to add.

  5. Click ADD.

  6. Instead of selecting area types individually to add to a property, you can click the Import All Area Types link to import all area types in the system to the selected property.

  7. Once an area type has been added to the property, the following values can be set to make the area type more specific to the property:

    • Benchmark – percentage (0-100) used to on the inspection dashboard to graphically show the number of inspections scoring above or below this benchmark
    • Threshold – percentage score (0-100) below which a corrective work request can automatically be generated; for example, if the threshold is set to 75, any inspection receiving a score less than 75% will have a corrective work request automatically generated
    • Type – the default type of work request created when auto-generating a request based inspection failure
    • Subtype – the default subType of work request created when auto-generating a request based inspection failure
    • Send Flag – Yes to send a notification to the person who will complete any generated corrective work request.
  8. Click UPDATE.
